Knurl Texture

The Knurl texture has been trusted on tool handles for over a century thanks to its aggressive and dependable grip. Each diamond-shaped knurl creates multiple contact points that deliver consistent traction and confident control in all riding conditions.

Thin or Thick Options

Hands come in different sizes, so the Monarch grips are available in two diameters.

• Thin: 30mm inner diameter / 32mm outer diameter
• Thick: 32mm inner diameter / 34mm outer diameter

The Thick version provides an additional 2mm of impact-damping rubber, making it ideal for riders with larger hands or anyone seeking extra comfort on rough terrain.

Comfort Thumb Pad

Your thumb constantly absorbs impacts while riding over roots, rocks and technical terrain. Peaty's Comfort Thumb Pad extends beyond the grip body to provide additional support and cushioning, helping reduce pressure, hot spots and blisters.

The reinforced zigzag thumb pad prevents unwanted flex during hard cornering while maintaining excellent comfort and support throughout long rides.

High Grip Finger Bars

The underside of the grip features independently segmented finger bars that maximise grip while maintaining excellent bar feel. Carefully tuned spacing and depth accommodate different hand sizes and finger positions.

Combined with the offset core, the reduced rubber thickness underneath provides more direct steering feedback and improved control when pulling on the handlebars.

Tapered Grip Body & Core

The Monarch grip gradually increases in diameter from the inside to the outside, naturally supporting your palms while reducing pressure during longer rides.

This tapered profile creates thinner rubber on the inside for enhanced bar feel and thicker rubber on the outside for greater impact absorption.

Peaty's custom-designed tapered core also uses a slim 8mm locking clamp instead of the conventional 11mm clamp, increasing the usable grip area to 130mm while keeping the overall grip width to a minimum.

The tapered internal core grips the handlebar securely and works together with the lockring to minimise grip movement during aggressive riding.

Offset Core

The grip core is positioned lower inside the rubber, creating a thicker upper section for comfort and a thinner lower section for improved bar feel. Combined with the tapered grip body and finger bars, this delivers excellent comfort without sacrificing control.

Half Flange & Pinky Ramp

A compact half flange protects your thumb from the lockring hardware while providing a comfortable hand stop during shifting. The subtle pinky ramp helps you instinctively locate the end of the grip for added confidence on rough descents.

Peaty's continues to reduce environmental impact wherever possible. The grip cores are made from 80% recycled ocean plastic, while recyclable cardboard packaging and paper pulp end plugs replace unnecessary single-use plastics.

Installation Instructions

1. Remove the old grips and thoroughly clean and degrease the handlebars.
2. Slide the grips onto the correct side of the handlebar. The "L" and "R" markings on the lockrings indicate the left and right grips.
3. Position the grip so the crown logo on the end cap faces upwards. Adjust the angle slightly forwards or backwards to suit your riding position and preference.
4. Push the grip fully onto the handlebar so the tapered core is completely seated. A firm push with the palm of your hand is sufficient.
5. Tighten the 3mm Allen bolt on the lockring to 3Nm.
6. You're ready to ride.
